The Starter Shop has a Fishing Rod and bait in the reviewed footage. A separate recipe shows a rod made from 45 Wood, 20 Stone Ore and 15 Metal Ore. Keep Crystal Koi if you want to craft Golden Marlin, and keep Golden Marlin if you want to craft Void Anglerfish. Check the selected recipe before using Sell All Fish.
Choose a shop rod or the crafting route
The starter shop screen displays a Fishing Rod alongside Uncommon Bait and a Wood sword. Read the current price and available stock before buying; the filmed player’s shop-price modifier makes that screenshot unsuitable as a normal price list.
For the crafting route, select Fishing Rod under Craft → Tools. The inspected recipe requires 45 Wood, 20 Stone Ore and 15 Metal Ore for one rod. A recipe requirement and the materials in your backpack are different numbers, so use the material planner to check what is still missing.

| Pufferfish | Uncommon | 60 |

Prices are a historical menu snapshot from ItzVexo at 3:00; rarities come from the October 12 item reference. They do not establish today’s sale values, catch odds or profit per hour.
Check the two fish conversions before Sell All
The Fish Market has individual Sell and Sell All controls, plus a Sell All Fish action. Use the individual controls when you want to preserve a recipe input. The conversion examples explain inventory choices; they do not prove that crafting is always more profitable than selling.
The material planner counts finished fish as ingredients. It does not quietly expand two Golden Marlin into four Koi, because you may already own the Marlin or obtain them by another route.
| Finished output | Filmed ingredient requirement | Why you might keep the input |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Golden Marlin | 2 Crystal Koi | A Koi stack can support a named craft. |
| 1 Void Anglerfish | 2 Golden Marlin | Selling every Marlin prevents this craft from using your existing fish. |
Keep bait, ease and luck in separate decisions
Bait is a fishing supply. The item reference describes Fishing Potion as fishing ease and Sea Luck Potion as fishing luck. Those labels address different parts of the activity; a luck potion should not be described as a guaranteed catch or an easier minigame without supporting mechanics.
Before spending supplies, choose a finish line for the session: collect a material, complete an Index milestone or sell surplus fish. Check your catch and reward panels at the end, then record what worked on your current version.
Questions players ask
Can I craft a Fishing Rod?
The October 3 Craft → Tools screen shows a recipe of 45 Wood, 20 Stone Ore and 15 Metal Ore. Check the current screen for its current level requirement and quantities.
Should I sell every fish?
Check your next craft first. Golden Marlin uses Crystal Koi, and Void Anglerfish uses Golden Marlin in the inspected recipe screens.
Does fishing directly guarantee Mana Crystals?
No. Fish and crystal fragments are separate resources in the reviewed references. The linked Crystal Mana recipe uses fragments and Potato, not an assumed guaranteed crystal catch.
