For the listed passive bonuses, Fast Learner leads trait EXP (+10%), Mana Sensitive leads trait Mana recovery (+35%), and Chosen One is the broad survival pick. Devil and Sovereign lead many fields in their historical references. These are goal-based editorial tiers, not a tested Update 2 damage ranking. For books, compare the Grimoire tier list.
Rank for the run you want
Editorial goal tiers derived from dated beta bonuses. No live DPS, stacking or win-rate model is assumed.
EXP is the primary comparison. Yuls and combat utility are secondary; there is no measured EXP-per-hour score. S = strongest direct fit in this reference; A = strong keep; B = narrower useful fit; C = less direct support for this goal. Same-tier entries are not an exact order.

Bonus source dated 2026-10-01 · source reviewed Oct 18The best keep depends on one specific goal
The tool’s S/A/B/C groups describe fit for a selected task. A C for EXP means no EXP field is listed; it does not mean the trait is useless or has been measured to clear more slowly. Same-tier entries have no strict order.
| Goal | A useful keep | Why the comparison changes |
|---|---|---|
| Leveling | Fast Learner; an owned Elf/Devil; Royal/Sovereign | Fast Learner lists +10% EXP versus Chosen One’s +7.5%. Do not reroll a useful broad package just to match one field. |
| Equipment money | Merchant or better owned economy class; Coin Eye | Merchant lists +10% Yuls versus Noble’s +7.5%; Noble offers recovery that Merchant does not. |
| Boss survival | Chosen One or Strong Body; a recovery race/class | Health and recovery help between mistakes. They do not bypass Witch Queen’s vessel mechanic. |
| Mana sustain | Mana Sensitive; a useful pool race; Royal/Sovereign | Pool size and regeneration solve different interruptions. Race regeneration is omitted because sources conflict. |
Choose a Grimoire by its tools, then check the dated tier
- Already own a useful Shadow or Anti-Magic? The October 12 editorial list rated them S, but grouped base and Devil forms. Keep a working roll while checking the form and unlock you actually have.
- Poison is a historical PvE recommendation for damage while repositioning. It is a candidate to try, not a measured winner on every boss.
- Ice has documented area tools and is a practical early keep; its rank differs between the October 5 and October 12 lists.
- Blood has seven filmed skills, but no controlled comparison in this evidence. New does not automatically mean S.
How the goal tiers are made
Clover Time Guide assigns the passive tiers by reading the actual listed bonuses for the chosen goal. S is the strongest direct fit in that reference, A a strong keep, B a narrower useful fit and C a less direct fit. The goal definitions sit above the results. This is our decision aid, not an official developer ranking.
Race figures are dated September 29; class and trait figures October 1. October 18 is the source-review date. No stacking total, rarity-weighted score, acquisition cost or current damage formula is invented. Flat Mana and percentage Mana stay separate.
Should I keep or reroll?
Progress stays in this browser.
Why newer books can stay unranked
The official Halloween Part 1 event announces three Grimoire rarity slots, a raid/location and level cap 200. The current experience title advertises Blood and Update 2. These announcements establish scope, not a complete tested combat order.
The Grimoire comparison keeps Blood unranked and preserves older source dates. It does not guess the identities, exclusivity or performance of every announced addition.
Questions players ask
What is the best race in Clover Time?
Devil has the largest listed EXP and Mana package among the five historical race records. Keeping an owned Elf or Human-Dwarf can still be a better use of your resources than chasing an unpriced reroll. This is not an Update 2 DPS test.
Is the rarest trait always best?
No. Fast Learner lists more EXP than Chosen One, while Mana Sensitive lists more Mana regeneration. Choose the field you need and keep a useful result.
Does an S tier mean my build will beat Witch Queen?
No. The tiers compare reported passive packages. They do not predict your damage, skill use, party or success with the Blood Vessel mechanic.
