Shadow and Anti-Magic were S in the October 12 editorial list; Poison was a strong historical PvE pick. Ice is a useful early area-kit keep despite disagreement between old lists. Blood has filmed Update 2 skills but no supported comparative rank here. Keep a useful owned book; do not chase a current “best” claim that has no version or test behind it.

The October 12 source groups base and Devil forms of Shadow/Anti-Magic. A base roll therefore does not prove access to the performance attributed to an awakened form. Blood and any unnamed Halloween additions have no measured placement here.
What should I keep for my next task?
| Task | A candidate to keep or try | What supports the choice |
|---|---|---|
| First quests and groups | An owned Ice or another kit that finishes the route | Ice has documented line and area attacks. Spending every crystal for a rare name can interrupt useful progression. |
| Bosses while repositioning | Poison | Historical PvE authors recommend its continuing damage. Boss-specific performance and immunity are not measured here. |
| Spell and basic-attack mix | Battle Lightning | The detailed kit reference combines attack enhancements and area spells. It is distinct from Thunder. |
| Close-range / awakened kit | An owned Anti-Magic | Detailed base/awakened abilities exist, but awakening requirements and performance must not be assumed for a fresh roll. |
| PvP control | Bronze is an author-reported candidate | The October 12 rationale mentions control in PvP. There is no comparable complete PvP benchmark across all 14 books. |
| Try the new filmed kit | Blood | Seven skills are shown in October 17 footage. A showcase establishes the kit, not a universal first-place damage score. |
The ten-book launch reference, without guessed roll odds
These labels come from the October 9 fan reference. The comparison above adds Shadow, Thunder, Bronze and Blood from separate later evidence. Fourteen reviewed entries are not a guarantee that the live pool contains only fourteen books.
We omit single-book probabilities. A shared Common or Epic rarity-band percentage is not the probability of every book inside it, and it cannot safely be divided evenly. The Blood tower recording also has player Luck and Roblox Plus modifiers.
| Historical rarity | Books documented in that reference |
|---|---|
| Common | Earth, Fire, Snow, Water |
| Uncommon | Ice |
| Rare | Chain |
| Epic | Explosive Flame, Poison |
| Legendary | Battle Lightning |
| Mythic | Anti-Magic |
Why Ice changes tier between the old lists
The two rating schemes are kept intact. A II is not automatically an A, and a different letter does not prove a balance nerf. The authors, included books and comparison criteria differ.
The practical decision is simpler: if Ice reaches grouped enemies and clears your current route, keep it while learning the next unlock. Compare a replacement on the same task rather than rerolling because one letter looks lower.
| Source snapshot | Ice placement | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| October 5 launch PvE list | II, the second of three bands | A useful early kit in that author’s ten-book comparison. |
| October 12 Shadow-era editorial list | C in an S–D scheme | A later opinion that also includes Shadow, Thunder and Bronze. |
Shadow, Thunder, Bronze and Blood need different evidence
- Shadow, Thunder and Bronze appear in the October 12 source. That source groups Shadow’s base and Devil forms; do not assume the base roll has every advantage described for the form.
- Thunder and Battle Lightning are separate entries in that source. Similar names are not proof of an alias.
- Blood is supported by the current developer title and reviewed October 17 tower/skill footage. Its comparison card remains unranked.
- The Halloween event announces three rarity slots without establishing every name in our captured text. Do not infer that an identified book is Halloween-exclusive.
PvE and PvP are different comparisons
A PvE tier can favor safe quest clears and repeatable boss damage, while PvP may depend on control, tracking, mobility and recovery windows. The October 12 author’s Bronze comments are useful as a control lead, but they do not supply a full PvP order.
For an owned book, practice whether the setup reaches a moving target and whether you can recover after a missed attack. Do not apply a PvE damage opinion as a promise about player matchups.

Questions players ask
What is the best Grimoire in Clover Time right now?
The strongest sourced historical shortlist is Shadow/Anti-Magic from October 12, with Poison also favored for PvE. We do not have a controlled Update 2 comparison against Blood and every announced new book, so no current universal winner is claimed.
Should I reroll Ice?
Keep a usable Ice while it clears the next task. Its documented area kit can help early progression, and the old ranking disagreement does not establish a current nerf.
Is Blood S tier?
Not established by this evidence. The reviewed footage shows its seven skills and a tower roll, but does not compare equal-stat clears against every other book.
Are these official rankings?
No. The historical rankings are attributed source opinions. The keep-or-reroll guidance is our editorial interpretation, with dates and limits shown beside it.
